Then add one-half pint of boiling water, the juice of two lemons and two oranges, and one and one-half cups of sugar. Let it stand until nearly cold; then add twelve dates, twelve raisins, six figs, two bananas, sliced; scald and chop the dates and figs. The bananas will rise to the top, the rest will sink. Serve with whipped cream. Mrs. M. A. Til ton. Judge Peters' Pudding. Three-fourths box of gelatine soaked in one-half pint of cold water till soft, two cups of sugar, juice of two lemons, one-half pint boiling water. Cut up three bananas, three oranges, four figs, eight dates and few nuts sliced fine, raisins, and citron; pour jelly over them. Serve with whipped cream. Mrs. George A. Sanders. Orange Pudding. Boil together one pint of water and one small cup of sugar; add three tablespoonfuls cornstarch dissolved in a little cold water; boil about eight minutes, or until transparent. Take from the fire, and add the juice and grated rind of a lemon. When cold, add the sweetened pulp of three oranges. Whites of four eggs, After the prunes are stewed, drain off the juice, remove the stones, and chop. Beat the eggs stiff, add the sugar gradually, beating all the time; then stir in the prunes. Bake twenty minutes. Serve cold with whipped cream. Mrs. Blakely. Lemon Jelly. One package gelatine, two cups sugar, one large lemon, rolled, squeezed and cut up, rind and all, some stick cinnamon; soak a short time in one pint cold water, then add one and one-half pints, or nearly a quart, of boiling water.
